From the first sourdough loaves out of the oven to classic pastries and savoury treats, the bakery celebrates craft, quality and tradition throughout the day. Extending beyond the counter, the Claridge’s Bakery collection brings this same spirit into the home. Richard Hart
Richard Hart is one of the most respected bakers of his generation, and the opening of Claridge’s Bakery marks Hart’s long-awaited return to the United Kingdom, building on decades of experience across the globe — from San Francisco to Copenhagen, Melbourne and Mexico City.
Opened on Brooks Mews in Mayfair, just behind Claridge’s, the bakery brings together Hart’s love of traditional London bakeries and the hotel’s rich culinary heritage.
“I am excited and honoured to be the Executive Baker and Creative Director at Claridge’s Bakery. My goal is to celebrate timeless British baked favourites in one of the most notable British institutions. Bread and baked goods are an everyday staple that brings people together and I can’t wait to share my take on it with Londoners and visitors to the capital.”


The bakery forms a seamless continuation of the architectural language along Brooks Mews, conceived by John Pawson, who also created Claridge’s ArtSpace and ArtSpace Café. Elegant yet purposeful, the space is a fully functioning bakery created for precision and efficiency, with open views that invite guests to glimpse and savour the sights and aromas of baking in motion.
At Claridge’s Bakery, British baking takes centre stage. From tender Bloomers and hearty Granary loaves to delicate Custard and Jammy Dodger tarts, Belgian Buns and Iced Fingers, each creation is crafted with care, alongside Richard Hart’s signature sourdoughs. Freshly baked each day, the menu is available throughout the day for hotel guests, locals and visitors.
