Life in Charms: A Story of Claridge’s and Annoushka
Claridge’s and Annoushka have come together to create a collection of seven exclusive 18ct gold charms. Handcrafted by our longstanding friend and renowned jewellery designer Annoushka Ducas, each piece forms part of her celebrated Life in Charms series. This collection perfectly captures the most iconic symbols of Claridge’s, transforming our rich heritage into charms to be cherished for generations.
Icons in Miniature
Dainty and detailed, the Claridges x Annoushka charms bring our most distinctive emblems to life in miniature form. From the famous Art Deco revolving door to the iconic Rocking Zebra which sits in our lobby, Annoushka draws from her connection with the hotel for inspiration.
Adorned with diamonds, mother of pearl and precious gemstones, each charm dazzles in 18ct yellow gold. True to Annoushka’s signature style, this collection evokes a playful elegance and features unique moving parts, capturing the magic and character of Claridge’s. The front of our Bell Boy Teddy opens, the stirrups of the Rocking Zebra sway, and the lid of the Bernardaud Teapot inspired charm lifts open.
Commenting on the unveiling of these charms, Claridge’s Archivist Kate Hudson said “We love the idea of encapsulating Claridge's history in such an exquisite piece of jewellery. Each charm symbolises a significant moment in our history - from the timeless teddy bear to the pearl suitcase with Claridge’s luggage tag detail, and the champagne glass that epitomises the sense of celebration that is so synonymous with life at the hotel. The Claridge's crest is quite literally etched into our walls as well as appearing on our cakes, and the Bernardaud inspired teapot reflects the very English tradition of afternoon tea that has been part of Claridge's story for more than a century.”
“For me this is a dream collaboration, Claridge’s is personal: my grandmother used to bring me here for tea, and years later, when I inherited a fish business at 23, I got to see Claridge’s from a very different angle — through the tradesmen’s entrance — it was not as glamorous, but it gave me an appreciation for the attention to detail that make Claridge’s so unique. I am delighted to be able to celebrate Claridge’s through Life in Charms.”
